The Pattern Book Card - The Standards of Hue

The Pattern Book shines a light on the past by re-purposing vintage illustrations from a variety of disciplines.
The expansive greeting card collection features scientific depictions of flora & fauna, anatomical illustrations, architectural diagrams, nineteenth century drawings, and early sketches of would-be patented products.
The Pattern Book endeavours to maintain the highest environmental standards in the manufacturing process, and all cards are printed with vegetable-based inks on sustainably sourced, FSC approved paper in England.

Adapted from a colour theory diagram by chemist and Nobel laureate, Wilhelm Ostwald (1916). Ostwald introduced grey-scale value or brightness into colour theory, influencing Piet Mondrian and the De Stijl movement.

Printed on sustainably sourced, acid free, carbon neutral paper.
